Fraternity Challenge Coins

Friday, March 30th, 2012

With over 700 undergraduate and graduate chapters, Omega Psi Phi is a well-known, international fraternity.  Founded on November 17, 1911 by three Howard University juniors, it is the first predominantly African-American fraternity to be founded at a historically black university.  The Fraternity’s mission is simple.  It’s members work hard to attract and build a strong force of men that are dedicated to its Cardinal Principles.  The ideas of manhood, scholarship, perseverance, and uplift are strongly encouraged.

Some notable members of Omega Psi Phi include Bill Cosby, Tom Joyner, Michael Jordan, Shaquille O’Neal, Steve Harvey, and Rickey Smiley.  Over 250,000 men in the United States, Bermuda, Bahamas, Virgin Islands, South Korea, Japan, Liberia, Germany, and Kuwait have been initiated into the fraternity.  Challenge Coins Plus recently created custom challenge coins for one chapter of this historic fraternity.  Using their design ideas and concepts, we were able to create the fraternity challenge coin pictured here.

The challenge coin’s design consists of the Omega Psi Phi crest and the back of the coin displays the location of this particular fraternity.  This gives others the opportunity to identify who the fraternity challenge coin belongs to and where it came from.  It also allows members to look at their custom coins and remember their college and fraternal experience.

Custom fraternity challenge coins make great keepsakes.  Throughout the years, they can be awarded for different reasons.  They can be used to promote special events or fundraisers as well as reward academic and community-wide excellence.  It isn’t unusual for fraternity members to have collections of challenge coins.  In fact, you will see them displayed in their homes and offices once they have graduated from campus.  Fraternity challenge coins are meant to be shown off.

If you’re looking for a unique way to honor the past and present members of your fraternity, contact us.  We can help you come up with a fraternity challenge coin design that reflects your ideas and values as an organization.  Visit http://www.challengecoinsplus.com, email info@challengecoinsplus.com or call 1-800-252-0904 toll-free for a no obligation, free price quote and full color digital proof.  We’ll be happy to answer any questions you might have and get started on designing your custom fraternity coins today.

California Highway Patrol Challenge Coins

Wednesday, March 28th, 2012

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is a law enforcement agency in the state of California.  It has patrol jurisdiction over California highways.  It also acts as the state police.  The CHP is the largest police agency in the United States.  With over 11,000 employees (7,500 are sworn officers), you can see why the CHP uses custom challenge coins as a recognition tool for its officers and employees.

We are proud to have helped design a coin for one of it departments. The office of the Assistant Commissioner now has coins that the Assistant Commissioner uses to recognize members of it department that are both uniformed and non-uniformed. One side of the coins displays the logo of the California Highway Patrol and the other has the acronym and number of the areas served by the person receiving the coins.

Custom challenge coins serve as meaningful and memorable gifts.  They are highly sought-after and become something that people enjoy collecting.  In fact, recipients receive one coin and then strive to earn more throughout the years.  They display these items in their home and offices because they want others to see their accomplishments.

At awards ceremonies and banquets, challenge coins are commonplace.  Many groups, organizations, and departments elect to give them away and they often place them in a velvet bag, velvet box or acrylic coin capsule prior to the event.  Presentation options make special events even more remarkable.  These items also help protect coins by making them easier to store and enjoy throughout the years.

Pet Show Challenge Coins

Tuesday, March 27th, 2012

Most families in the United States have a pet or two at home. These pets are seen and recognized as equal members of family. They are cared for by doctors and treated to haircuts just like any child or grown up in the family.

When it comes to haircuts, our pet’s fur isn’t just trimmed.  It is groomed to fit the certain breed standards that apply to that pet’s appearance. In turn there are many grooming shows throughout the country that display groomer’s talents and many shows have been using challenge coins as part of the giveaway to its participants and guest.

The All American Grooming Show had us create a challenge coin to celebrate the 40th anniversary of it show. The front of the challenge coin proudly displays the shows logo for this year which is a clever take on the statue of liberty with a dog in place of the women.  The back of the coin has a message from the show’s promoters thanking its participants and attendees.

The coin shown here is the perfect example of what happens when a customer is given creative license over his or her design.  In addition to branding the pet show, the challenge coin also serves as a small but meaningful gift for participants.  Everyone walks away from the event feeling like they got something from it.  Groomers get to show off their skills and pet owners learn more about the different businesses being represented at the show.

Custom challenge coins can be created in different sizes and shapes depending on the artwork that is included on them.  They can also have 3D images or cut outs on them.  This helps accentuate different areas of the coins and makes them realistic and visually appealing.

Here are a few ideas for your pet show challenge coins:

  • Choose a decorative edge for your design.
  • Have your coins sequentially numbered.
  • Can’t choose between gold or silver.  Have them both by electing to have your coins dual plated.
  • Add a bottle opener mechanism to your challenge coins.

Create custom challenge coins for your special show or convention.  Visit http://www.challengecoinsplus.com today.  In addition to free design services and artwork, we provide all of our customers with a no obligation, free price quote and full color digital proof.  Email info@challengecoinsplus.com or call 1-800-252-0904 today to speak to a representative.  We can answer any questions you have and listen to your suggestions for your order of pet show challenge coins.

Campaign Challenge Coins

Monday, March 26th, 2012

Voting is one of the great privileges and rights we have as Americans. Earning the people’s vote is key to every candidate’s campaign, and they are always looking for a way to stand out and be recognized by the voters. In the past, candidates have used buttons to hand out to potential voters and members of their staff. Lately we have been seeing a trend of candidates using challenge coins as a great marketing tool during the campaign efforts.

Challenge coins have a high perceived value and when handed out by a candidate, the recipient has a greater chance of remembering were the beautiful challenge coin came from.  This is the perfect way to give candidates the exposure that they deserve which in return can lead to their political success.  A memorable slogan or logo can stick in people’s minds and remind them of the politician that they’ve chosen to support.

Dee Hobbs is running for the Williamson County Attorney position. His campaign staff contacted us to help design a challenge coin for his campaign. We were able to have is motto and call to action on the front of the coin and an image of the county building where he hopes to serve on the back. We also took the same challenge coin and created different color schemes to be used as thank you gifts for different levels of campaign contribution.

Custom challenge coins are great for this reason.  They are versatile and meaningful.  People know they are receiving a special gift when a candidate gives them a custom coin.  They also have an easy time supporting the politician because they know what issues he or she stands for by looking at the coin’s artwork.  Many candidates include this information on the back of a custom challenge coin because it helps them win votes.

If you’re a politician looking to make your mark, make Challenge Coins Plus your source for campaign coins.  Visit http://www.challengecoinsplus.com to see examples of all the different add-ons we offer.  You can email your requests to info@challengecoinsplus.com or call 1-800-252-0904 toll-free.  We’ll send you a full color proof via email and a price quote based on your specifications.

Bureau of Prison Challenge Coins

Friday, March 23rd, 2012

The Federal Bureau of Prisons is a governmental agency that protects society from offenders by controlling the environments of prisons and community-based facilities. The agency makes sure that conditions are safe, humane, cost-efficient, and appropriately secure. They also offer self-improvement opportunities to inmates that want to become law abiding citizens once released back into their communities.

We create Bureau of Prisons challenge coins upon our customer’s request. Being a part of such educational efforts is something we really enjoy doing. Being able to help groups extend their message to the public is one of our goals at Challenge Coins Plus. That’s why we provide design services free of charge.

Agencies like the Bureau of Prisons can count on us to help them create artwork with impact. Other people will see the coins, know who they are associated with, and what type of message they are trying to convey. This is especially important for groups that are trying to accomplish very specific goals through outreach and fundraising efforts.

Custom challenge coins are double sided which makes it easy for groups to display two different images on them. If they are part of a federal group, they can feature the logo or seal on one side. They can then put their own department, unit or city’s logo or seal on the other. This makes each coin design unique and personal. Recipients love having a piece of memorabilia like this to look back on.

Order custom challenge coins for your agency today. Visit http://www.challengecoinsplus.com. Emergency Medical Services help keep communities safe.  They offer relief in times of distress and provide lifesaving medical procedures that  save lives.  Often, the first on the scene EMS techs comfort the sick and injured.  If it wasn’t for the dedication and skills of these individuals, rescue efforts wouldn’t be near as successful as they are today.

Business Card Challenge Coins

Monday, March 19th, 2012

Many companies are using challenge coins as business cards to separate themselves from the competition.  Paper business cards are so common they are easily overlooked and misplaced.  That’s why custom challenge coins are ideal.  Because they’re pretty hefty in comparison, people know where they’ve placed them.  They’re also attractive and long lasting.

A challenge coin has a very high perceived value and is more likely to be kept than a rectangular piece of paper.  Custom challenge coins can be stored in a velvet bag, box or acrylic coin case for safekeeping.  This allows them to be maintained for long periods of time without damage.

Balloon Guy is an example of one of our customers that is using a challenge coin as his business card for his business.  You can transform the way that your customers see you by perpetuating a positive image.  Creating a challenge coin business card allows you to do just that.  People will be so impressed by your ingenuity that they can’t help but use your services or buy from your business.

Custom challenge coins are double sided which give you ample room to place your contact information on them.  In addition to including the name of your business, your telephone number, and email address, you can also include your website URL in the design.  This gives your customers something to look to whenever they want to know more about you and the products or services that you provide.

Think outside the box.  Find a new way to appeal to your customers.  Choose Challenge Coins Plus for your business card challenge coin needs.  Visit http://www.challengecoinsplus.com, email info@challengecoinsplus.com or call 1-800-252-0904 toll-free to request a no obligation, free price quote and full color digital proof.  We love helping your business get the recognition it so richly deserves.

US Coast Guard Challenge Coins

Thursday, March 15th, 2012

The Coast Guard is one of seven armed services in the United States of America.  Founded in 1790 by Alexander Hamilton, it is a maritime, military, multi-mission service with maritime law enforcement powers.  As of August 2009, the US Coast Guard had approximately 42,000 men and women on active duty, 7,500 reservists, 30,000 auxiliarists, and 7,700 full-time civilian employees.

Like other branches of the military, we’ve had the distinct pleasure of working with members of the United States Coast Guard to create attractive and memorable challenge coins for upcoming events and awards ceremonies.  Double sided challenge coins are perfect for military milestones and recognition programs.  Using symbols and mottos that are familiar to guardsmen, we are able to create unique gift items rich in personal meaning and sentimental value.

Custom challenge coins are attractive and practical.  Because of their long military ties, they are highly regarded by the Coast Guard of the United States.  Guardsmen collect coins with pride.  They know that receiving one is quite an accomplishment.  Challenge coin rules require recipients to carry their coins with them at all times.  This allows them to stand up when challenged in a bar or pub.  Presenting an acceptable challenge coin prevents service men and women from having to buy drinks for the challengers.  In fact, it can earn them the right to their choice of beverage in many social settings.

Because challenge coins are presented while out, many of our Coast Guard US customers order bottle opener challenge coins.  A bottle opener challenge coin appears to be very similar to a regular challenge coin. The main difference is the bottle opener mechanism contained within the coin.  This makes the item a valuable tool when out and about.

If you want to acknowledge the efforts of members of the Coast Guard, do so with custom challenge coins.  Visit http://www.challengecoinsplus.com, email info@challengecoinsplus.com or call 1-800-252-0904 toll-free to request a free price quote and full color proof.
