Fire Department Anniversary Challenge Coins

Friday, November 30th, 2012

Lutz Volunteer Fire Department is celebrating its 100 year anniversary.  They requested that we create custom challenge coins for them in anticipation of this extremely special anniversary.  Using their design ideas, we were able to create the type of coin that commemorated their centennial anniversary.

Custom challenge coins are the perfect keepsake for this type of occasion.  Attractive and memorable, they’re the type of item that people cherish and hold onto for years.  Custom coins can be created in a variety of sizes, shapes, and styles depending on the preferences of the customer ordering them.

Coins can have a decorative edge, 3D emblem, dual plating, sequential numbering or cut outs.  They can be single or double sided.  Coins can be created as medallions or bottle openers.  This allows the recipient of the coin to get more use out of it.

Custom coins can be presented in a velvet box or acrylic coin capsule.  We offer a variety of different options to store, display, and protect the challenge coin gifts you plan on handing out.  This is one way to add a touch of class to your ceremony or banquet.  The recipients of your coins will feel extra special receiving them.  They also will have a place to put their cherished keepsake when it’s not being viewed.

Volunteer Firefighter Challenge Coins Honor These Selfless Heroes

Friday, December 2nd, 2011

Firefighters in general are brave, courageous individuals. Some firefighter stations are made up of an entire group of volunteers that take the oath to protect while not receiving a paycheck to do so. As the coin pictured here says, these folks are “Courageous, Aggressive, and Dedicated”.

Challenge Coins Make Great Award Items

Volunteer firefighter coins are perfect items to give volunteers to demonstrate how appreciated they are. Even though a coin is not nearly enough of a thank you, it goes a long way in praising the volunteers. Tangible rewards like these encourage individuals to be their very best. When a person feels appreciated, they are more likely to give more of their times and skills to a department or organization.

Offset Printing Allows for Mirror Images on Coins

This coin created by the volunteer fire department has a beautiful offset printed image of the fire truck that this station uses. They wanted an exact replica of the photographed engine so we recommended our process called “offset printing”. The front of the coin had the highly recognizable Maltese cross with the logo of station 62 on it. Details like these make the award items unique and memorable.

Color Adds to the Appeal of Custom Challenge Coins

Different shades of red compliment the high polished gold of this custom challenge coin. They also tie into the profession. Red and gold fire trucks are the tools used by volunteers to assist community members in need. This is just an example of how color can add visual appeal and relevance to custom coins.

Honor the volunteer firefighters in your community with challenge coins. They are the type of gift that makes a bold impression on their recipients. Fire Department Captains Hand Out Custom Challenge Coins for Those Who Show Excellence

Monday, November 14th, 2011

Challenge coins are great for handing out to individuals who excel in their line of work.  For fire departments, this could mean someone went above and beyond the call of duty.  Receiving a custom coin like the one you see here is an honor that is taken very seriously.

Just by looking at the front of this coin, you can see the time and energy that went into drawing this coin.  The captains of company 3 wanted to come up with a coin design that would not look like any other coins out there.  They also added sequential numbering so that the recipients of this award would know that they were 1 of only a few people to earn this coin.

Sequential numbering adds value to the coin because there is only a limited number of that particular coin ever minted.  This adds to the collectability of the coin and makes it appear to be very valuable.  Anyone wanting to get their hands on a custom challenge coin like this one will have to have earned the honor.

A very interesting detail that was done on the front of this is what we call diamond plating.  You can see in the center circle that the silver paint fill area has little raised gold sections that emulate diamond plating.  Diamond plating can be seen on truck tool boxes, or even stair treads that lead up to a stage or bleachers.

The words “Presented by the Captains of Company 3” makes it possible for everyone to know that the recipient must have done something special to have earned it.

Rotating the design of this coin so that it is oriented like a diamond was a design trick used to grab one’s attention.  Did it work?  Thinking outside the box is encouraged whenever coming up with a concept for challenge coins.  Using your design ideas, we can create a coin that stands out in a crowd.
