Fire & Iron Challenge Coins

Wednesday, October 10th, 2012

Challenge Coins Plus has once again been commissioned to produce a coin for the Fire & Iron Motorcycle Club. This time it was for Station 88 out of Rock Hill, South Carolina. “Fire and Iron Firefighter’s MC is made up of Firefighter’s and other people associated with the Fire Service who love to ride and have a good time. Each member is an Active Full-Time/Career, Paid-On-Call, or Volunteer member of the Fire Service community.”

The club offers a sense of community for the men and women that call themselves members. In addition to their love for firefighting, their love for riding bikes is what sets them apart from others in their community. Each station has its own coin if it chooses to order one. The Fire & Iron MC logo is often included on the coins for identification purposes.

The traditional Fire & Iron logo is on one side of the coin pictured here. Station 88 specific information is on the reverse side of the coin. This allows each individual club to get the recognition that it deserves by showing affiliation with Fire & Iron but also representing its own logo, motto, and city. Customers can further personalize their coins by adding a decorative edge, a 3D emblem, sequential numbering, a bottle opener mechanism or dual plating. Each option makes coins attractive, meaningful, and memorable.

Fire & Iron Challenge Coins

Monday, July 2nd, 2012

The Fire & Iron Motorcycle Club is made up of firefighters and people associated with the fire service who love to ride bikes and have a good time. Each member is an active full-time/career, paid-on-call or volunteer member of the fire service community. Each station has its own chapter of the club. Within these stations, challenge coins are very popular.

The members of each Fire and Iron group takes great pride in what they do as a career and also the motorcycle they ride as when off duty. You can see this in the designs they create for their own custom challenge coins. Each design is unique and memorable. In fact, most include the club’s nationally recognized logo that is well-known among the motorcycling community. Their logo is a great example of the type of logos that make for a great challenge coin.

The custom coin pictured here is especially notable for a number of different reasons. First, it is easily identifiable by the emblems and text included on both sides of the coin. The front reads, “Fire and Iron, Fighters, Est. 1999, and FIFL”. The back side of the coin reads, “New Hampshire, Lakes Region Station102”. Details like these make each chapter’s coin special while maintaining the overall theme of the group. That’s the beauty of custom challenge coins. Each one is created with the customer and recipients in mind.

Volunteer Firefighter Challenge Coins Honor These Selfless Heroes

Friday, December 2nd, 2011

Firefighters in general are brave, courageous individuals. Some firefighter stations are made up of an entire group of volunteers that take the oath to protect while not receiving a paycheck to do so. As the coin pictured here says, these folks are “Courageous, Aggressive, and Dedicated”.

Challenge Coins Make Great Award Items

Volunteer firefighter coins are perfect items to give volunteers to demonstrate how appreciated they are. Even though a coin is not nearly enough of a thank you, it goes a long way in praising the volunteers. Tangible rewards like these encourage individuals to be their very best. When a person feels appreciated, they are more likely to give more of their times and skills to a department or organization.

Offset Printing Allows for Mirror Images on Coins

This coin created by the volunteer fire department has a beautiful offset printed image of the fire truck that this station uses. They wanted an exact replica of the photographed engine so we recommended our process called “offset printing”. The front of the coin had the highly recognizable Maltese cross with the logo of station 62 on it. Details like these make the award items unique and memorable.

Color Adds to the Appeal of Custom Challenge Coins

Different shades of red compliment the high polished gold of this custom challenge coin. They also tie into the profession. Red and gold fire trucks are the tools used by volunteers to assist community members in need. This is just an example of how color can add visual appeal and relevance to custom coins.

Honor the volunteer firefighters in your community with challenge coins. They are the type of gift that makes a bold impression on their recipients. Custom Challenge Coins Made for Attendees of the Firefighters Burn Institute Kids Camp

Monday, October 10th, 2011

The Firefighters Burn Institute participates in local burn care and also plays an active role on a national level with the Federal Institute of Burn Foundations and the American Burn Association.  Founded in 1973 after a plane crash killed Sacramento firefighter, Gene LaVine, and eight members of his family, the institute helps burn victims receive the care and support that they need.

What is the Firefighters Kid Camp?

There is nothing in the world more satisfying than knowing that you’ve made a positive impact in the life of a child.  Each year dozens of volunteers at Firefighters Kids Camp do just that.  They make a difference.  Firefighters, nurses, burn survivors, medical professionals and civilians staff this one-week summer camp program for burn-injured children ages seven to seventeen.  It’s a place where kids can be “just like everyone else.”  There are no stares, no social avoidance and no awkward interactions; just fun, friendship, understanding and encouragement in a safe and caring environment.

Custom Challenge Coins Made to Look Like Currency

Each participant of the week-long camp was presented with the custom challenge coin you see here.  A classic round shape was used which kids like because it makes the coins feel like currency.  Tall evergreens add a pop of green one side of the coin and the universal symbol for firefighters, the Maltese cross, is on the other side.

Custom Challenge Coins Are Easy to Transport and Turn Into Medals

The 1.5” coin you see here is the same size as a half dollar.  Easy to transport and keep in your pocket, this is a very popular size coin.  We could have easily made these into medals by adding a loop at the top and attaching a 1.5” ribbon.  Medals are great for handing out for special accomplishments or placing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in a particular event.

Custom challenge coins are great for honoring the special people in your life.  If you are a camp director, nurse or other person in charge of a special camp, ordering coins or medals for all of your campers will seriously impact their experience.  Visit, email or call 1-800-252-0904 toll-free.  We’ll be happy to send you a no obligation free quote.
