Friday, March 1st, 2013

Retiring military service personnel use challenge coins to give out at their retirement ceremonies. The designs on the coins will include their ranks and highlight the specific duties and tasks they performed during their years of active duty. The coins are given to family, friends and colleagues that provided support to military members as they served.

Custom challenge coins have a long standing history with the military. Known as the ultimate award item, coins have been considered a symbol of hope, strength, determination, and heroism. The same sentiments can be applied to retired and retiring members of the military. The men and women that served this country deserve to be thanked for their sacrifices.

Challenge coins can be created in a variety of different sizes, shapes, styles, and colors. They can have dual plating, sequential numbering, cut outs, 3D images, and even decorative edges if you wish. Some customers choose to make their retirement challenge coins bottle openers. This makes it easy to open a bottle once a challenge has been won.

If you’re ordering custom challenge coins, you’ll want presentation options that meet your needs and fit the theme of your banquet. Choose the package that’s best for you and give the recipients of your gifts an easy way to store and display their challenge coin gifts.

It’s Memorial Day weekend and because we know so many of you travel, we wanted to take a moment to wish you a safe and fun holiday.  While you’re out on the lake or at the beach enjoying your family time, make safety your number one concern.  We’re keeping you in our thoughts this weekend while you travel to and from your destination.

Memorial Day means a lot to us at Challenge Coins Plus because of our ties with the military.  We salute those that served their country and are no longer with us.  It is an honor to work with the different branches of the military each and every day.  The service these men and women provide to our country is invaluable.  We love being a part of their lives by creating custom challenge coins that commend their work, show off their character, and reward their heroic deeds.

Challenge coins are much more than a token of appreciation.  They are a heartfelt and meaningful memento.  They commemorate a time in a military man or woman’s life and give them a sense of pride, membership, and hope.  Since World War I, challenge coins have been handed out to members of the military as a way of thanking them for their hard work and determination.  Today, they are used to reward ordinary citizens and to highlight the lives that they have lived.

Graduation Challenge Coins for JROTC

Tuesday, May 8th, 2012

The Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) is a college-based program that trains commissioned officers of the United States armed forces.  ROTC officers serve in all branches of the U.S. armed forces. The ROTC program is college based; however, it begins at the High School level as a JROTC (Junior Reserve Officer’s Training Corps). As with all other forms of military involvement, challenge coins are a highly treasured item among the JROTC members.

Intrerlachen High School recognized the importance the challenge coins have to its JROTC and ask us to help create a coin it can award its 2011-2012 school year ROTC graduates.  After hearing their design ideas, we were able to create an award rich in detail and sentimental value.

As you can see from the picture posted here, a lot of effort went into designing this attractive coin.  The use of color plays a big role.  Black and yellow are often used in Army-themed merchandise.  You’ll also see a distinct and memorable mascot along with bold text.  This helps others get to know the groups affiliated with the coins easily.

Custom challenge coins boost esteem.  They encourage individuals in group settings to be leaders.  Since World War I, challenge coins have been used to reward the efforts of worthy individuals.  That’s why ROTC programs love creating their own custom challenge coins to giveaway to their graduates.

Don’t let another opportunity pass you by.  Create custom challenge coins for your ROTC program today.  Visit http://www.challengecoinsplus.com, email info@challengecoinsplus.com or call 1-800-252-0904 toll-free.  We can’t wait to get started on your design and bring recognition to your officers.

Fighter Squadron Challenge Coins

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2012

The 480th Fighter Squadron is an active United States Air Force unit. It is stationed at Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany and is assigned to the 52nd Operations Group. Like other military units, the 480th is a very proud group and display its pride through the creation of its custom challenge coins.

We recently created the coin pictured here for the 480th Fighter Squadron. As you can see from the photo, a lot of thought and detail went into the design. Custom challenge coins serve as a direct reflection of the groups that order them. That’s why it’s so important for us to get it right each and every time a customer orders from us. A full color digital proof depicting the design is sent for free and unlimited revisions are available until the challenge coin is absolutely perfect.

The double sided coin featured here is everything that the customer specified and more. The design has been extended to both sides of the coin for maximum exposure. A brilliant gold decorative edge adds a distinct touch of class to the challenge coin. Bold logos catch people’s eye and get them interested in the 480th Fighter Squadron as a whole. Text declaring, “First In Last Out Great Warhawk Nation” and “Operation Odyssey Dawn” help recipients of the coin remember what they were created for. March 19 through April 18, 2011 helps commemorate the occasion.

The more detail that goes into a challenge coin, the more memorable it becomes. See what options we offer by visiting http://www.challengecoinsplus.com. We have a talented team of designers on hand that can help you come up with a custom coin design that is uniquely you. Email your ideas to info@challengecoinsplus.com or call 1-800-252-0904 toll-free to speak to a representative. A free price quote and full color digital proof will be sent to you once we hear your ideas.

US Coast Guard Challenge Coins

Thursday, March 15th, 2012

The Coast Guard is one of seven armed services in the United States of America.  Founded in 1790 by Alexander Hamilton, it is a maritime, military, multi-mission service with maritime law enforcement powers.  As of August 2009, the US Coast Guard had approximately 42,000 men and women on active duty, 7,500 reservists, 30,000 auxiliarists, and 7,700 full-time civilian employees.

Like other branches of the military, we’ve had the distinct pleasure of working with members of the United States Coast Guard to create attractive and memorable challenge coins for upcoming events and awards ceremonies.  Double sided challenge coins are perfect for military milestones and recognition programs.  Using symbols and mottos that are familiar to guardsmen, we are able to create unique gift items rich in personal meaning and sentimental value.

Custom challenge coins are attractive and practical.  Because of their long military ties, they are highly regarded by the Coast Guard of the United States.  Guardsmen collect coins with pride.  They know that receiving one is quite an accomplishment.  Challenge coin rules require recipients to carry their coins with them at all times.  This allows them to stand up when challenged in a bar or pub.  Presenting an acceptable challenge coin prevents service men and women from having to buy drinks for the challengers.  In fact, it can earn them the right to their choice of beverage in many social settings.

Because challenge coins are presented while out, many of our Coast Guard US customers order bottle opener challenge coins.  A bottle opener challenge coin appears to be very similar to a regular challenge coin. The main difference is the bottle opener mechanism contained within the coin.  This makes the item a valuable tool when out and about.

If you want to acknowledge the efforts of members of the Coast Guard, do so with custom challenge coins.  Visit http://www.challengecoinsplus.com, email info@challengecoinsplus.com or call 1-800-252-0904 toll-free to request a free price quote and full color proof.

US Army Challenge Coins

Friday, March 9th, 2012

US Army challenge coins are unique and memorable.  Used to honor exceptional members of the military, they are created on a very regular basis by Challenge Coins Plus.  Since World War I, challenge coins have been used to reward others for the good deeds that they’ve done.  The ultimate award item, custom coins are widely recognized because of their distinctive look and military ties.

Custom challenge coins range in size, shape, and style depending on our customer’s preferences.  Some are meant to resemble dog tags while others have bottle opening mechanisms included in them.  This allows the owners of the coins to easily compete in challenges at their favorite restaurants and watering holes.  Beverages with bottle caps can be opened easily when this type of challenge coin is in possession.

Army challenge coins vary from unit to unit but many contain similar emblems and mottos.  The widespread usage of symbolism and verbiage helps keep the spirit of this branch of the military alive.  Some units opt to customize their coins with 3D images, decorative edges or sequential numbering.  Others like the look of dual plating so they request that option when they inquire about the price of their custom challenge coins.

Challenge coins are awarded at ceremonies and special banquets yearly.  A number of different presentation options exist to help store and display these personalized items.  Here are some of the ones that we offer to our customers:

  • PVC Coin Envelopes (FREE)
  • Coin Capsules
  • Velvet Bag
  • Acrylic Coin Capsules
  • Velvet Coin Cases
  • Plastic Stands

If you’re in the Army and want a way to remember the time you spent with your comrades, order custom challenge coins today.  Visit http://www.challengecoinsplus.com, email info@challengecoinsplus.com or call 1-800-252-0904 toll-free to request a free quote or to address any questions you might have about the coin ordering process.

Military Reunion Challenge Coins Strengthen Bonds

Monday, February 13th, 2012

Military vets share a common bond with one another that few can lay claim to. Having served in the military together is one thing, having served during wartime or conflict is something completely different. These vets have been displaying this common bond by producing challenge coins that display the union and common bond they have with one another. Challenge coins allow them to feature information about their service in the military along with information that is specific to the reunion date or event.

In the spirit of Black History Month, a group of Black Korean war veterans are getting together this month (February 2012) for a reunion. We helped them design challenge coins for their event. One side features the logo used by the Department of Defense Korean War Commemoration Committee, the other side of the challenge coins is completely customized with the event date, the image of a soldier and the motto adopted by this group of war veterans.

Custom gift items like these strengthen bonds because they help vets remember the past.  They can take a look at their challenge coin and be reminded of the time that they served in the military.  Custom coins often have locations, dates, and emblems on them which make them personal souvenirs for everyone that they are given to.

Order your own custom challenge coins by visiting http://www.challengecoinsplus.com.  In addition to free design services and artwork, we also provide you with a free price quote, full color digital proof, and free shipping.  This allows you to enjoy your custom challenge coins with others in the timeliest way possible.

You can reach us by phoning 1-800-252-0904 toll-free or emailing info@challengecoinsplus.com.  No matter which method you choose to contact us, one thing is for sure.  You’ll love sharing the custom coins we create for you with others.
